Beechwood, the defending "A" State Baseball Champions will return to Whitaker Park next Saturday to begin defense of their 2014 title. This, on the merits of a 5-1 win over Brossart on Wednesday night in the 9th/10th Region "A" Sectional Playoff Game played under cool weather conditions at Dixie Heights High School.

The Tigers will face the winner of the Region 5/6 Sectional Playoff next Saturday at 2:30pm.

Fieger was the starter and pitcher for Beechwood. Clay Kramer took the loss for the Mustangs, who head to Louisville for the weekend where they will take on Trigg County on Friday night at 8:30pm. That game will be carried live via our BMustangs.com website.

Good job Tigers. Keep it rolling. Impressive pitching by Fieger taking a no hitter into the 6th and going the distance for the win with a 2 hitter.
