March 31, 201511 yr The Awful Mystery of Two Suicides in Missouri Politics This must be bad. let me explain a little further. This winter I was playing golf in Florida as a single. I hooked up with a couple of guys. As we were playing we just started talking about what we did as professionals. One of the guys said he was the former Speaker of the House in Missouri. Me, being a Democrat had a few light hearted and good natured fun with politics and party differences. He really seemed like a nice guy and probably is. During the conversations, I took it that he had been defeated and was now a lobbyist for some firm or organization. Also, I asked how the Ferguson thing effected politics on the state level and he said that the Democratic Governor was going to take some hits in the next election for his handling of it. He then said it won't matter because the two factions in the Republican Party in Missouri cannot get along and dislike the other side more than they do the Democrats. He said the Republican Party is its own worst enemy I found that a little odd until I read this today. It must really be bad there. Although he didn't mention things in this article, I now believe this is what is he was probably referring to.
