Male 2015

Featured Replies

What does Male need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Male will still be very talented. Their JV QB was very good and they were a stupid coach away from an undefeated season at that level.

Male has the talent to challenge for a title, and has had it for 3 years. They need to figure out how to play in adverse conditions. When they are blasting people Male plays very well. When they are challenged the finger pointing starts and they get rattled. For Male to get over the hump they have to get past that.

Male will be just as good and maybe even better than last season. The qb will be Hayden Shelton, I think he will be a senior, he's an extremely mobile and athletic qb unlike Mattingly from last year. He will bring a dynamic to their offense that they haven't had the last 2 years. Mattingly pretty much just sat back there and picked you apart w/ his arm, Shelton will be totally different although he certainly can throw the ball as well. Male will be a tough out for sure as usual.

Has anyone heard about the Male spring game? I will have to find out how the team is looking

Not understanding the "stupid coach away" comment.... I think Male's coach is one of the best in the State if that is who you are referring to.... That Trinity Male game in the playoffs was a coin flip as was the regular season game, it was simply amazing that I had the opportunity to watch both, some of the best football I've ever seen in Kentucky!

Their JV coach is who I'm referring to. A stupid unsportsmanlike penalty on him cost them a touchdown and the game against Trinity and an undefeated season at the JV level.

As to their varsity coach he may be a good X and O coach but something is missing. For the last 2 years Male has had from a talent standpoint the best team in the state. As long as they are in control of the game they are very good and play very well together but when they see adversity they lose that cohesion. I saw it in both Trinity games this year, they over came it in one and didn't in the other. I didn't see the Scott County game last year but I've heard from people that were there that when Scott started controlling the game they really unraveled and there was lots and lots of finger pointing. If true that's on the head coach.
