Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy wrote a scathing article about UMass planning to retire a jersey in honor of John Calipari. He even makes the comparison of this to say you wouldn't retire a jersey in honor of Bill Cosby now. Below is the link to the article.

The Cosby comparison is flimsy at best and pretty foolish.

 

However, if I were a UMass supporter, I'd probably be pretty ambivalent about this decision. I'd definitely be of two minds about the guy. People upset with this have a perfectly legitimate reason.
