16thBBall Fan Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy wrote a scathing article about UMass planning to retire a jersey in honor of John Calipari. He even makes the comparison of this to say you wouldn't retire a jersey in honor of Bill Cosby now. Below is the link to the article. Dan Shaughnessy Weirdly Analogized John Calipari to Bill Cosby | The Big Lead Watch his interview with Paul Finebaum a few minutes ago. Here is the actual Boston Globe article by Shaughnessy: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/03/07/umass-making-big-mistake-with-john-calipari-honor/jpNlS6DG2VJPlyMiNXpX6K/story.html Edited March 9, 2015 by 16thBBall Fan
Getslow Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 The Cosby comparison is flimsy at best and pretty foolish. However, if I were a UMass supporter, I'd probably be pretty ambivalent about this decision. I'd definitely be of two minds about the guy. People upset with this have a perfectly legitimate reason.
Hangman Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I don't read Dan Shaughnessy articles and I won't start with this one.
