Tough year and a tough matchup for the Dogs.

 

You thought Ryle was young last year? Holmes is playing 2 or 3 frosh on a regular basis. They sometimes start an 8th grader.

 

Add in their best overall player (hitter/pitcher/etc) is out due to injury and another starter out of town for an academic competition of some sort and you've got a 10-runner.

 

To add to the misery, they don't really have a field to practice on unless you count the Holmes football field.

 

Raise your hand if you think these are the ingredients for success in NKY.

I truly felt sorry for Holmes in that they were not able to compete on the field yesterday. I hope they can turn it around. It was a not an enjoyable game.

Holmes doesnt have trouble hitting the ball, it's just they have lacked the pitching this year to really compete. Their pitchers are walking way too many batters which is leading to easy runs for the opposition. But cshs is right about them being very young and their best hitter/pitcher being out due to injury as well
