"He started four players who made the team in an open tryout on Oct. 4 and also one who was a practice player last season under former coach Craig Robinson.

He started 6-10 junior Justin Stangel, 6-foot guard A.J. Hedgecock and three freshmen: 6-6 forward Matt Dahlen, 6-4 guard Tanner Sanders and 6-3 guard Dylan Livesay.

Those players might not be on the team next season due to a strong recruiting class.

"It was to really give a tribute to our guys for what they've done for us this year on what normally would be a senior-type night," Tinkle said. "Some people might call me crazy and maybe I am, but it was something our guys deserved."

Good move on the coaches part.

Give some love to the practice meat. I like it.:thumb:

Classy move by the Beavers. Gotta love a good walk-on story.
