Treading Water - National Geographic Magazine Rising sea level scare. The problem is - the data is not showing it. A Japanese Puzzle | Watts Up With That? Even if the small graph - commonly used - is true its only 20 cm over around 130 years. That is about 5 inches of variance (rise). I think the IPCC models predict accelerated and aggressive rise. But the data is not matching up. Given how much the ocean levels may vary with or without man made effects - I would not buy a condo that is 0.1 ft above 'sea level' in Florida or anywhere else. Besides - if the rising waters do not get you a hurricane will....eventually.
