People and a World In Decay - Rant

Featured Replies

The things people do without a shred of humiliation or a glimmer of consideration for others simply astounds me sometimes.

Last week, Saturday to be exact, I went to the Kroger gas station, an expected line of people waiting to fill up as usual for that time of day, no big deal. As I sat waiting I look to my left and see a man and a woman in their upper 50s lower 60s cleaning their windows, nothing unusual there. Then I notice the man gets in the car and waits for his, I would assume, wife. She continues to clean the windows…but doesn't stop there. She continues to open the doors and clean the door jambs. Unusual to see someone doing that with a squeegee, at least for me anyway. I figure that will be the end of it since there are people in line waiting to pump gas behind them, but then again I forgot who ignorant people can be.

As I’m sitting there, she continues to clean the sides of her car….with the squeegee. I just shook my head in disbelief. At that point the pump I was waiting on became available and I pulled up, got out of my car and began to fill my tank. I look over, and now she’s cleaning the hood! She continues to do so for a while, I finish pumping the gas for my car and begin to walk to the window to pay for my gas. As I do so, she begins to clean the rear of the car….bumper and all without a bit of concern that there were people waiting on her. She just didn't care.

As I paid, I mention to the attendant that there was a woman washing her entire car with, she interrupted me and said, “a squeegee”. “Yeah”, I said, “does that happen often”, I asked her. “More than you’d care to know” she said. I was speechless.

This ever happen to any of you?

Inconsiderate. Just blatant inconsiderate.

I still can't believe I witnessed that!

The car washing does not bother me as much as occupying the space in front of the gas tank so others in line have to wait.

Same here, however, a squeegee does not a car wash make. :lol2:
