How so?

Gut feeling. Can't put it into words. Felt it when I first read the story. The fundraising just adds to it.

I admit the same type of "this is odd" feeling. I just have to go with what's out there until we learn more.

Two things here on the previous marriage and children. The religion didn't bar him from seeing his 4 kids, (1) there was a messy divorce which I am guessing somehow led to him not even having visitation rights. (2) I am guessing that he was the one who filed for divorce, and that led to him being ex-communicated.

I agree, the headline is misleading, it makes it look like he walked away from his previous children.
