South has played some very good teams.

Records this early can be deceiving. I saw a team play last night that had a 6-1 record get mercied by a 3-2 team that had played better competition. I think the Paintsville's and Lawrence Co.'s will be much better than a few teams in the mountains when the smoke clears simply based on the caliber of their total programs. JMO. Estill and Powell can both play but still have some proving to do yet.

That may be so, and again it may not be so. The purpose of weekly ratings is to place a team based on what they are doing, may not be doing, or have done in the past, not on what they could or possibly could not do in the future. Any thing other is pure speculation.

I agree that records can be deceiving, but Lawerence County got pounded 11-1 by a very mediocre Whitley County team.

I may be giving Lawrence to much credit based on past years of a good program. I haven't seen them play yet. I thought Paintsville looked decent against Pikeville in the All A final however.

But they are still included as part of the mountains.
