Darius Williams - '16 Guard, Dunbar - Recruiting

Recommended Posts

Have heard from a couple of people that Paul Laurence Dunbar's Darius Williams, a 2016 wing, has been getting some attention from Louisville, who might have even went as far as to have had some people at last week's King of the Bluegrass event at Fairdale.

Coming into the season, I know that WKU (as well as other programs) had been rumored to have been heavily interested in Williams, and had heard more than one person remark that this could be the year that his interests and offers really started to take off.

Williams, a junior just scored his 1000th career point last week, and as of Saturday morning, was leading the 11th Region in average points per game with 24.

Saturday evening, he only added to that, getting 30 while primarily being matched up with Manual's Dwayne Sutton (who is a great player in his own right). Williams' bumped his average by shooting 64.3% from the floor (9/14) and 84.6% from the line (11/13), and also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Congratulations to Mr. Williams, whose year is making me think that he could be a name in play for Mr. Basketball during his senior season.
