lexbaseball33 Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 It is real easy to 2nd guess any decision a coach calls. I disagree with calls all the time but this does not make me right. Coach Galloway made a call that this time did not work, but every coach makes decisions by the gut feeling they have sometimes turns out wrong sometimes makes you look great. There is no correct call on any situation its all on the results. I have seen steals of home with 2 strikes on the batter work and you are called a genius but if it doesn't work an idiot. This was a good High School baseball and was decided by the players, In this case Justin Riddell of Lexington Catholic with his 2 run homer and throw out of runner at the plate from right field.
UNDERTHEBRIDGE Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Ehhh, this is early in the year. Wait till later in the season and if they can win this matchup it will be a huge win. These two teams usually play pretty close whenever they meet up.
katrina Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 This was a big win fro Cat. regardless of the time of year. I heard Michael Phas was given the ball. I've not seen him pitch in about a year. If he has improved since I last saw him he is a terror on the mound. Very smart and knows where to place the ball for each hitter. Good luck the rest of the season to both teams.
Tough as Nails Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Good game that could have been won by either team, which speaks to the GREAT teams that both schools have. Wished the Eagles could have pulled this out. LCA had a chance to score on a squeeze play but the ball was bunted back to the pitcher. If it was put down the first baseline, it may have been a different game. Can't blame the coach for taking his chances. The second throw out at the plate I didn't agree with, but again Coach Galloway knows his kids abilities and took a chance. Had this been a post-season game I would think it may have happened differently.
