Tough as Nails Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 No thread started on this. What you do guys think of this game scheduled for tonight at 5 pm at LCA?
Mr. No Name Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Early in the year, both teams havent had a chance to prove themselves, so I'll go by last year. LexChristian 4 LexCatholic 2
Tough as Nails Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Krueger for LCA will be on the mound tonight.
Guest Bluto Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I left after the 6th inning, and the score was LexCath 3, LCA 2. It should have been tied up, but there was a bonehead playcall by the LCA coach: try to score on contact, and the runner at 3rd base was EASILY thrown out (zero outs). Don't know what the final was.
Old Soda Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I'll take all the so called bonehead plays that Coach Galloway calls, hes a great coach. How many state championships have you won Bluto?
Guest Bluto Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I'll take all the so called bonehead plays that Coach Galloway calls, hes a great coach. How many state championships have you won Bluto? Let's see if I understand what you're saying. Coach Galloway led last year's team to the state championship: Therefore: EVERYTHING he does is correct and cannot be questioned. Are you saying that, by definition, coach Galloway cannot make a mistake? [by the way, this line of reasoning applies to ALL situations; not just to LCA.]
Old Soda Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 and if it had worked nothing would have ever been said about it. I wish all the fans had a chance to be coaches. We all know they would never make a mistake.
Guest Bluto Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I will try to address your points seriatim (for those of you in Rio Linda, that means one-at-a-time). and if it had worked nothing would have ever been said about it. Just because something works doesn't mean it was a good decision. Most of us have had situations that worked out right that, by all rights, should not have - they were a bad risk. I wish all the fans had a chance to be coaches. We all know they would never make a mistake. The sentiment is true, as well as your sarcasm. That's the point. Believe it or not, many of us on BGP HAVE, indeed, coached at various levels. It has always seemed to me that it's the "stand-up" guy (or gal) that owns up to their decisions, good or bad. I've made enough "bonehead" plays to know them, and call them as I see them.

Well said bluto. Just because something happens to work out doesn't mean it was a good decision. If the play at the plate had been overthrown to the backstop, then it was still a risky move, just happened to work out. Old Soda... you need to realize that Bluto was not out to get your coach - just observing.
