I'm sorry, but I don't understand why he's being forced to pay. He didn't shoot anybody. Why don't the guy who pulled the trigger?

That's what doesn't make any sense to me though. I'd think they would have to charge all of the participants that caused the damage, not hang it all on the person "who started it". I don't know details of the night, but it doesn't make much sense to me either.
