So who won this tournament.

Birds put the bad shooting day behind them and come out on fire today. Opening up the game with a 25-5 1st qtr lead. Both teams started going to the bench in the 2nd qtr.

 

Bright side for Conner, they have some special players on the way with Jordan, Burcham and Hurst! And love watching Gambrel play! Not a more competitive kid in the region.

So who won this tournament.

 

Not over yet. Owensboro Cath and Lex Cath play in the finals. My guess is OC takes home the trophy.

After watching all the teams play, I sure didn't predict this correctly. But I bet many others didn't either. Funny week. Conner beat Lex Cath by 12 (and was up as many as 25 in the 3rd) and we beat Conner in a running clock. Yet Lex Cath turns around and beats OC. HHS had a horrible game against OC. OC coaches were watching our game against Conner and you could tell their coach was thinking, "glad we played them yesterday!" OC played really well against us, but HHS played their worse game of the season. No excuses at all, just a bad time to not play their best.

 

I agree doesn't help the resume, but we're not trying to win the polls. The big games are right around the corner and the Bluebirds and their fans know just how good this team is and when they meet on the floor, the polls mean nothing. And then guess what, none of it matters until it matters. The Birds are just fine. No worries here. Losing a game in December means nothing...except to those that want to see their team on the top of a poll. The rubber hits the road on game day.

 

Bet if you ask the coaches of any of the other teams if the loss changes their opinion of HHS or how they will prepare for HHS, bet it doesn't mean a thing. They know what they have and what they are up against. My prediction is the HHS game against Holmes and HC will be battles. All different styles and it will end up who can force their game on the other.

Exactly how can anyone predict Girls sports...Just sayin :thumb:
