Who cares about defensive numbers? Both Hamilton & Gomez are VERY Good defensive fielders. If the Reds acquire Gomez, it will be because of his bat -- not his glove.

 

Last year Gomez hit .284, .356 OBP with 23 HR & 34 SB's

 

2013: .284 AVG, .338 OBP, 24 HR, 40 SB's

2012: .260 AVG, .305 OBP, 19 HR, 37 SB's

 

Averages in MIL: .267 average, .324 OBP

 

He would provide a lot of spark to the top of the Reds lineup, and I would trade Chapman for him in a heartbeat.
