Inside 3rd Region (12/17/14)

Featured Replies

1.Owensboro:

The Red Devils continued to show why they are the top team in the third region this past week as they picked up two more wins and remained undefeated at 5-0. One of those wins was a 69-59 win over rival, Owensboro Catholic.

2.Muhlenberg County:

The Mustangs picked up two nice wins last week over Breckinridge County and Ohio County. Muhlenberg County now stands at 4-1.

3.Apollo:

Apollo picked up two wins last week over Whitesville Trinity and Daviess County. Coming into this week, Apollo stood at 3-1.

4.Meade County:

The Green Wave continued to impress with three big wins last week. Wins over Hancock County, Frederick Fraize, Campbellsville.

5.Breckinridge County:

The Tigers went 2-1 last week with wins over Butler County and Hancock County but took a beating by Muhlenberg County at 55-38.

6.Daviess County:

Daviess county was an even .500 last week going 1-1. The win came against Edmonson County with the loss coming to Apollo.

7.Grayson County:

The Cougars started the season at 2-0 but that came to an end last week as they fell to Central Hardin 60-48 but they would bounce back with a 64-53 win over Whitesville Trinity.

8.Butler County:

The Bears didn’t have a good week last week going 1-2. The lone win came against Hopkins County Central 76-70 before that the Bears took two losses, 81-73 Breckinridge County and 77-68 McLean County.

9.Hancock County:

Hancock County is still trying to get on track and last week didn’t help as they took two losses. Meade County 57-41 and Breckinridge County 54-47. The Hornets will look to get things going this week.

10.Owensboro Catholic:

The Aces got just one game in last week and it would not be a good one as they’d fall to rival Owensboro 69-59.

Apollo is struggling right now but I still think its OHS, then Apollo...........then everyone else. DC is the 3rd most talented team in the region and have potential to overtake Apollo for that second spot. Meade has been impressive early in the season and hold a win over Owensboro Catholic. Muhlenberg will compete with Hopper but i cant buy them as the 2nd best team in this region. Ill take Apollo's losses vs Madison Central/S Warren over Muhlenbergs to Grayson/Henderson.

1.OHS - Its not even close right now.....

2.Meade - Six straight wins, one vs Ocath.....the Waves are an early surprise

3.Apollo - struggling to find their way right now, but still have a boat load of talent

4.DC - Currie continues to improve. If they can find some role players outside their big 3, they could make some noise.

5.Muhlenberg - best coach in the region, will get the most out of the talent, Jordan Terry is a big loss for the Stangs

6.OCath - Cam Obryan's health is a concern for the Aces, Hayden will have this team playing good ball come March

7.Grayson - Gary and Shellhart are a nice 1-2 punch, 3-0 vs regional opponents, could make some noise

8.Breck - have played well early, inconsistent vs regional foes but have shown the ability to compete

9.Hancock - Ty Ogle is carrying them right now

10.Mclean - a lot of talent on this Cougars squad, i fully expect them to improve as the season continues
