North Laurel & South Laurel spring scrimmages

Should be a great scrimmage between N. Laurel and Rockcastle Co this summer. Both teams will be physical. Should be a lot of hard hitting and smash mouth football.

Rock will have a major advantage in size, strength and experience on the line. North has some solid up and coming young linemen that will have to mature fast against a line like the Rockets will have. I expect Rock to control the line of scrimmage when they play, but the NL linebackers are agressive, have noses for the football, move pretty well, and are rather irritable when they get there. If you don't get a hat on them and fast, they will make plays all over the field. Ryan Brandenburg (jr) is a manchild, but others to watch for will be Chris Maggard (sr), Aaron Fugate (jr), Steven White (so) and a kid you will be hearing more from this season so you heard it here first, Kendall Nelson (jr) who is back and I was told looked better than ever in the blue/white scrimmage.

How did the 2 QB's competing for the starting job look? I have heard mixed reports, but didn't get much information. I was just curious who is probably in the lead? Justin Jones (soph) and Tommy Lawson (sr) are the 2 competing for the job. Lawson has a very strong arm, but not sure about his accuracy and quickness in a run oriented offense. Jones is the more accurate of the two, but really has to improve his quickness. Neither is very big, but North has had smaller QB's the past several years.

I heard he was a manchild. When he learns to control his temper, he has all the potential to be a bigtime player.

I don't remember him from last year's North-South game what number is he?

#35. Making plays all over the field. If you watch the game film, you will definitely see him.
