You showed inner confidence when you were not ranked in the Top 100 nationally, questioned by locals to win the region.

You showed heart when you had signature wins in Chicago and realized your a great team.

You showed humility when you beat your local rivals and won graciously.

And you showed up at the State Tourney and played with all your heart!!! You are the NK Girls Volleyball all-star team!!!!

NDA did have a great season. I was impressed by the heart and determination that they showed on the floor in all of the matches I witnessed this year. This weekend showcased high school volleyball at its best. I knew in my heart that the final was going to go five. You had two teams that had come so close in previous years only to lose by the slimmest of margins. I know how hard it is to sit there in the gym after losing. I can say that the coaching staff and players for NDA were the epitome of class during and after the game. That can't always be said for everyone unfortunately, but in their case it was. They lost, but they played as a team and left everything they had on that court. It is a shame that someone has to lose a game like that, but I can say that they walked out of that gym as winners and I fully expect them to be back there next season.

What year is Morgan and has she committed? For some reason I have Northwestern associated with her.

Hentz will be entering her senior year. She is deciding between Stanford and Penn State. Ashley Bush (Ryle) is going to Northwestern.

I guess when Penn State is in the mix you have to think about it long and hard. I thought I heard she was Stanford bound a while ago. Nice to see that she's taking her time with the decision. Obviously based on her making the 20 player USAV GYNT roster she has unlimited options, but it doesn't get any better than those two.

Is the combo of Penn State and Stanford recruiting you in vball the equivalent of UK and Duke recruiting you in men's basketball?

Some might argue otherwise, but I would say yes.

 

Let's put it this way.... recently a college coach was recruiting a player I know... the coach said a great many complimentary things before adding, "Look, If Stanford calls, I completely understand, you're going to Stanford, but if not, I'd hope that you'd keep us in mind."

It would be like if you could combine Alabama Football and UK and Duke Basketball. In 34 years of NCAA women's volleyball...

 

Penn State - 7 Nat'l Championships, 3 runners-up. Champs 6 of last 8 years.

Stanford - 6 Nat'l Championships, 8 runners-up. Lost Champ to PSU in '07 & "08.
