Central 14 Trinity 9 (JV)

Featured Replies

The JV Yellowjackets stung the Shamrocks at Central's Hive Monday evening. :android:The Rocks managed a first half field goal and led 3-0 at the break. The 'Jackets returned the second half kickoff for a TD and a 6-3 lead.

Central added a TD and two point conversion in the third quarter. Trinity's lone TD was a pass from Larry Harper III to Jovel Smith on a slant for about 70 yards. Trinity is now 7-2 with a game vs Moeller at home on November 1.

THS, do you know if it was raining during this game. I know the JV Rocks need no help from me, just pointing out that I think the playing conditions (cold and rainy) were less than ideal.

The field was worn. As one fan pointed out, there was very little evidence of a good root system in this field. Both teams had players slip and fall when trying to make cuts. Trinity's kicker slipped while attempting a kickoff and it was a line drive that Central player fielded cleanly at midfield. The kicker was on his backside and had a look of bewilderment when he got up.

The air was dry and it was very pleasant evening for football! Central enjoyed the game more than the Rocks!

Central's special teams has always lacked disclipine. Until they can properly kick an extra point, they won't beat any of the big boys at the varsity level.
