I don't think that anyone had their best game last night...players or refs. Inconsistent and unevenly called while twice taking away advantage while giving it another time when there was none. Yellow given to Dixie was not worthy of a card. Player was off balance on bumped into a Cru player...there were worse fouls that went uncalled. St. Henry had a number of scoring opportunities, but struggled to find the back of the net. Goals by Green and Dehner for the Cru and Dixie got theirs on an own goal. Nice game with a couple of really nice saves by Cru keeper Tate Johnson. Cru defense was good, not great tonight. St. Henry will need to return to form for their next game or their tourney life may be a short one. Cru has their ups and downs, but they got the job done in the end.

Shout out to Dixie's goalie. He put on a "goalie clinic" with lots of great saves. Dixie fans were really cheering for him.

Absolute stellar performance by the Dixie keeper, I don't know how he made some of the saves. He saved a few great shots by Lannon and Meyers. He deserved his All Tournament award! I didn't know the Dixie goal was an own goal, I'm a bit surprised to hear that...

Yes, the own goal was headed in by a defender. Unfortunate, but it happens. Hate to see the own goals as the kids take them pretty hard especially when they tie the game back up. They moved on and scored the winning goal shortly thereafter on a pretty long ball into the box from midfield off a free kick that was touched a time or two then cleaned up for the goal.

I watched the first 30 or 35 minutes before heading out. Riggs was stellar in goal during the time I was there. A nice one handed save diving to his left followed by a safe of a tough header less than a minute later.

 

Looked like St Henry had a bit more control of the game at the beginning but Dixie had their chances as well.

Riggs did play a heck of a game back there. The linked story above lists the wrong player taking the free kick on the winning goal. It wasn't Jacob Wells, it was Calvin Neltner. Good game last night. Best of luck to both teams in the Regionals!
