Here are game details:

Both teams struggled with offense most of the night. The defenses were solid from the start. Beechwood was able to grind out a scoring drive at the end of the first quarter. Eddie Erdman ran it in from 2 yards out, Daniel Mescher added the extra point and Beechwood led 7-0 with 1:19 to go in the first quarter.

The offenses both stumbled again before they each put together a bit of a drive. Beechwood drove the NCC 30 then went backwards on a couple plays and punted. NCC started a drive from their own 11 and moved across the 50. Then Logan Castleman intercepted a pass at the Beechwood 31. There was not much time left in the half but the Tigers made a couple nice plays to get in position to score. Logan Castleman, who had a lot of carries and ran hard all night, scored from 5 yards out with 32 seconds left to give Beechwood a 14-0 hafltime lead.

New Cath opened the second half with a lot of fire, starting on their own 30 and promptly moving the ball downfield better than they had all night. They got on the scoreboard when QB Jason Decker hit Jonathon Rust on a 16 yard pass. The Breds went for two but were stopped when Eddie Erdman tackled QB Decker in the backfield for a loss, BW 14 NCC 6. Beechwood went 3 and out and it looked like the Breds had the momentum. The Beechwood defense then toughened up and forced the Breds into a 3 and out.

The next Beechwood drive carried into the 4th quarter. The Tigers moved to the NCC 36 and faced 4th down. NCC had pressured Beechwood QB Braydon Burch all night not allowing him time to find a receiver. It happened again on 4th down, but Burch scrambled between a couple Bred players up into the pocket and found Harrison Heist all alone at the 5. Heist hauled in the pass and scampered into the end zone with the play of the game, 36 yard pass from Burch. Beechwood now led 21-6 after Mescher's extra point with 9:54 to go in the game. New Cath tried to muster another threat but the Tigers stopped them on downs at the 46. The Tigers picked up a first down and with time ticking down, both teams started to substitute in other players. Beechwood's Jake Sherron capped the scoring with 1:20 to go on an 8 yard run.

Final score - Beechwood 28 Newport Central Catholic 6.
