I'd like to see what you 3rd Region fans think about the upcoming season. Who do you see as being the top 3 players & teams are for 2014-15?

 

If memory serves me right, Owensboro started 5 juniors in the State Tournament last year. If my memory isn't right, I do know they return their top 3 scorers in Justin Miller, Aric Holman, & Darian Morrow. Barring injury, it would seem to me that the Red Devils are favored to repeat.

 

Apollo has to be feeling the sting of missing out on the Regional Tournament, especially when so many had them pegged as a Regional favorite. Everybody knows about Eli Wright, but who else do the Eagles have coming back? And they have a new coach too, correct?

 

So have at it, 3rd Region fans. Give us your top 3 teams & players for 2014-15.

OHS and AHS split in the regular season last year and did not play in the post season due to DC upsetting AHS in district. I think both teams could be worthy of being considered the best in the 3rd region this year. AHS has the best player in Eli Wright, but OHS with Aric Holman and Justin Miller are probably the more rounded team. I hear that Ohio Co. has some really good younger talent and I would look for them to make some noise as well.

My top 3 players would be Eli Wright(Apollo),Justin Miller(O'boro),& Aric Holman(O'boro). In that order. I would say the top 3 teams are Owensboro,Apollo,& I'll say Muhlenberg Co. In that order. (The 3rd spot could've gone to Ohio Co,Owensboro Catholic,or Daviess Co thgh) As far as Apollo goes they have the Moss kid who was getting some D1 interest this summer. He plays PG. Owensboro will be without starting PG Arius Phillips at least the 1st part of the season. He broke his arm in football a few weeks ago. This season will be interesting though....Apollo's new coach, Steve Barker, had O'boro's number while coaching at McLean Co. He'll have much better talent to work with at Apollo. Can't wait til the season tips off.

Owensboro and Apollo are teams to beat. Ohio County does have excellent young talent. Trace Young and Connor Wilson. Expect run from Muhlenberg as well. As much D1 talent in 3rd region as I've seen in many years
