I agree how pathetic it is that neither local newspaper has any info about the games tonight. And very minimal coverage throughout the whole season.What a shame. I would like to see some AD's put the pressure on...as I hear that can make the difference!

No, the game is Tuesday at Holmes High School starting at 7pm... The KHSAA would never allowed a girls basketball game to be played while their cash cow sweet sixteen boys tournament is being played....

Bradley, should have never been given the opportunity to be the star of the game. HC took the ball out on their offensive side of the basket with 11 seconds left and the score tied. They got the ball immediately to Lantry who I can only guess was to wait until the the clock got down to 3 or 4 seconds to make the winning basket. Lantry is HC best player and a senior but she (at least to me) looked up to see what was going on around her and lost the dribble. Again to me at least, Lantry didn't get it taken away from her, she just lost it... Then Bradley went after it and got the ball and was fouled in the scramble. She made the first shot and then missed the second, and HC didn't have a chance at all to score. I thought for sure that when Holy Cross got that ball into Lantry hands she would win it for them, but it wasn't to be.....

Actually OG you are wrong. I'm sure you recorded the games and/or watched the replays on the news since you made the incorrect assessment above. The little girl stripped the ball from Lantry after a crossover and when she turned to take the ball up the floor she was mugged and calmly stepped up and knocked down the winning free throw. She also hit two NBA 3's in the first half when her team needed a spark. The news said her stats were 11pts, 6 assists, and 3 steals. It seems as though the freshmen you expected to fold under pressure didn't seem phased in such a big game. There is little doubt that NDA will win the region, but you were leaning very heavily toward an all catholic championship "like the boys" and you seem a little miffed it didn’t happen.

 

Just relax. You'll get your championship, but give credit to a young team that was expected to do no better than .500. There were critical times in the game when they had 4 freshmen on the floor so regardless of what happens tonight they far exceeded expectations and should stand proud of what they have done this season. However, you might not want to count them out just yet since they are in a "no lose" situation at this point.

I think in no way should the credit not go to Jacy Bradley. So many people have counted Boone as an underdog because of the "youth" on the team. I have watched many of these girls play for years in AAU National competitions and would venture to say Bradley is one of the best I have seen at any age!!! Too much emphasis is put on grade level and not talent level. It's time to give credit where credit is due!!! If you are more talented than the "older" player.....you deserve the "star status".

What is amazing is that Boone continues to win without much offensive output from the Hicks girl. I think if she can get going, they will give NDA a game.

The credit should go to Griffith for her solid defense on Lantry the whole game. Her ability to keep Lantry in front of her on the final play allowed Bradley to get her hand in there for the strip.

 

If Boone plays like they did last night they will get whipped, but if they play their game like they have while beating top 10 competition there could quite possibly be a stunner in NKY.

I agree ATHC. Hick's has been very inconsistent. When she is on she can change a whole game. She is way overdue for a big game.

My intent was not to take anything away from Bradley at all but if Lantry gets the job done as she usually does, then she is the star of the game and not Bradley don't you think? I just now saw the replay and yes Lantry got the ball stolen away from her but the TV had a anlge looking into the play and from a high angle. I saw seating on the floor behind the play and again from what it looked like to me at the time, I thought she just lost it..

 

Now about Boone County... I was a Boone Cournty supporter long before most of you were, and I did it without having a child in the school system. Back in the early 80's even before Coach Fookes I was a major contribuotor to the Recorder Classics and other Boone Coutny girls sports. This is when there was really no coverage for the girls games, and I did it because it was the only fair thing to do, and I did it until I changed jobs in the early 90's. The only reason that "I" would have prefered to play HC was NDA getting beat in the District. I would have loved seeing the NDA girls play HC again.

 

My question, is why did it take my posting about the game for soneone from Boone County to let the BGP's know more about the game than just that Bradley was the star of the game......
