Louisville Collegiate 1 Bishop Brossart 0 (All A State Finals)

Featured Replies

There is a new "A" State Soccer champion in the Commonwealth, as the Louisville Collegiate Titans shut out the defending "A" State Champion Brossart Mustangs 1-0 at the Elizabethtown Sports Park on Sunday afternoon. The lone goal, by the Titans' Haji Abdikadir came with 4:12 remaining in the first half on a 40 yard high lofting goal that drifted over the head of keeper Jeff Paulin.

Brossart mounted an 11th hour attempt to get on the board with two narrow misses, one blocked by a defender sliding down to the post, thwarting what appeared to be a sure Mustang goal.

The Titans are a fine soccer team out of the very tough 7th Region. With the win they improve to 12-2-2 after defeating Bethlehem, Owensboro Catholic and Brossart this weekend in E-Town.

Named to the all-tournament team were: Aaron Gabriel, Haji Abdikadir, Cole Lancaster were named to the All-Tournament team from Collegiate. Brossart put Jon Henn, Nick Dierig, Jeff Paulin, and Dylan Geiman on the all-tournament squad. Titan Harper White was the MVP.

Congrats to Louisville Collegiate Titans!

Great tourney for Brossart, too.

Nice run Mustangs! I saw Collegiate earlier this season and they moved the ball well and were willing to build out of the back. Sounds like Brossart matched up well and gave them a great game. Congrats to the All-Tourney team selections and the whole Brossart team.
