Thoughts on them? Underrated? Good players?

I saw only one game. There is a freshman on the team that showed a great deal of skill/talent.

I know several of the boys on the team. They played with my son for several years prior to high school. Really great boys. If you want to build a team, these are the kind of kids (and parents) to start with. I have not been to see one of their games yet this year so I can't comment on WV as a team. Michael Martin, Zac Leffler, Jake ???, and there is probably another kid I can't recall. Each of those boys named have good foot skills and play well together. Martin has a motor that won't quit and neither will he. He is a tenacious player. Leffler always seems to find the goal. He has a knack for scoring. Jake can play in the field and in goal.

I look forward to the indoor season when my son will be on a team with them. I wish them well and a successful end of the season.

Hate indoor........Older son broke his tibia in the last two minutes of the last indoor game before HS Baseball started........Still cringe when two players arrive at the ball at the same time....

Good point, OTB84. Hmmm, maybe I should rethink this...

I agree with the comments on indoor. You will always have a few unskilled players out there playing the body and going hard into the boards like a hockey game. Also, the combination of the boards and close proximity of players seems to raise the aggression level all around. My son's club team is getting away from playing indoor in the winter due to risk of injury.

I strongly suggest they considering playing Futsal as a much better alternative. Club coaches Derek Smith (KHA) and Jon Caldwell (CUP) started pickup futsal games down at Serpentine wall on Friday nights a few years ago followed up by summer and winter futsal (Ginga; Brazilian name for it) camps that concentrate solely on ball control and skill. They just recently announced a Futsal league.

Not only is it much safer due to no boards it's also safer due to the fact that all the kids playing are there to work on body and foot control with precise ball handling.

No, not a paid advertisement but I've Refereed the games and have seen both Jon and Derek run their programs.

I agree 100% with the suggestion of futbalfan... many players are shifting towards futsal in the winter months.

They have about 4-5 good players. After that there is a pretty good drop off in talent. They're better than the past couple of years and have some young talent.
