I agree that this is an incorrect call... If I understand the rule correctly this could be a foul on the goalie... if the ref is willing to call it, is a whole different story though.

 

The problem is we still have too many people, refs included that think keepers should get special treatment. Which is frankly idiotic.

 

I am always amazed when I see the classic lead with the flying knee maneuver from.

 

Who else on the field is allowed to play like that? The guy that taught the USSF course was adamant we should stop this kind of thing from keepers.

Unless the keeper has the ball, or is in his small box by the goal.........he is just another player and should be subject to the same rules...
