Ryle 1 Newport Central Catholic 1 (Boys)

I picked the score correctly, I just need to know how NCC scored to see if I really nailed the prediction.

It was very hot and Ryle looked to have played about 20 players to NCC 15. Ncc scores on a corner kick headed in the 56th minute. Ryle then pressed till they scored in the 70th minute. Ryle had more chances during the game but NCC back line held strong.

A little puzzled by this comment groinpull, not sure if I should suggest that you are throwing rocks from your glass house, or, just ask you to go back and look at your own comments after you successfully picked the Cooper/Campbell Co result.

Was just joking. I'd have done the same thing had it ended 2-1.

Good... I have to take full advantage of my small measures of success... they are not too frequent.

I recall the NCC score was from a set piece but it was not a corner. It was a free kick from 25 out and right of goal that was headed nicely by an unmarked runner. NCC scored and went dormant. At times they had 9 players inside the box defensively. Unfortunately that approach dilutes the responsibility to mark players. It was like they had 9 keepers. The failure of NCC to maintain possession on the offensive end of the field led to the Ryle goal. NCC will have to learn to trust their stud defenders and improve the depth of the field. I know the coach wants his sweeper free of marks but after the NCC score there were 3 or four guys behind the ball without marks. This just puts a lot of pressure on the defense. I do believe that NCC has enough offense to score but they have to commit to playing offense throughout the game.

Hey now. On post 3 of the prediction thread I first said it would end in a tie. Next ime i'll have to throw in the score as well. LOL

Good point TAC, sorry you were over looked. I think by providing the score you get extra points for degree of difficulty.

Although these rules were just made up by myself, there is no correlation between these rules and how they benefit me. :jump:
