St. Henry 3 Villa Madonna 2 (Boys)

Featured Replies

The St. Henry score should be higher, they had some great shots on goal, but the Villa keeper, Alex Barton, was on fire tonight. Great performance by him. He made a couple of miracle saves.

Seems like the St. Henry coach seemed to be giving his second string a lot of playing time in the second half. IMO not a great decision in a game like that.

The ref was appalling tonight, I don't have enough time to go into all the reasons why!

St. Henry was lucky to escape with a win. Alex Barton played very well for Villa and a series of St. Henry defensive miscues made the game a lot closer than it should have been.

St. Henry needs to figure out what style they are going to play. The players seem to be playing on different pages still. Still have balls being played in the air that should be to feet and a lack of communication. Very frustrating to watch at this point. It would be good to see some constructive communication instead of random yelling.

Ref should be working a line as he lacked any decisiveness or consistency. St. Henry still needed to take care of business.

As to coaching if you play the same players that makes the same mistakes over and over, maybe it's time to tinker a little. I hope they figure this out soon as it is difficult to watch at times.

Very surprising result. This game was on Villa's field? Surprising they did not cancel.

I couldn't agree more. Also, the unnecessary and at times meaningless yelling from a couple of the back line players shows why the team is not bonding on the field.

Yes, the grass was long, very wet, and muddy. In horse-racing parlance you'd say the going was heavy.

Back line players are the ones who are supposed to provide direction as they can see the entire field. Also, the coach is in sync with the back line players. He encourages them to yell out instructions and has told them to do so.

They are supposed to provide constructive direction... with the emphasis on constructive.

I agree with your comments but it seems like others are saying it is not being done in a "good" manner. I have also heard some bickering between players, this is usually not seen/heard at St Henry.
