Kentucky to play South Florida in 2015

Featured Replies

Jeff Goodman of ESPN just reported that Kentucky is making plans to play against Orlando Antigua’s South Florida team in 2015 in Miami, Florida. The game will apparently be part of a double-header, which will likely include Ohio State and Memphis in the other match-up. Kentucky doesn’t often go on the road, and although Miami is not South Florida’s home court– it’s clearly a gesture to help his former assistant coach Orlando Antigua.

The double-header will feature a trio of coaches all interlocked, with Josh Pastner and Orlando Antigua both having been former Calipari assistants.

Yes!!! Yes!!! I think I just ... um ... never mind.

I was discussing this very scenario with Mark Harlan last Saturday at the Bulls Rally. My suggestion was to create a tournament here in Tampa, played at the TBT Forum, just for Kentucky, because I didn't think Calipari would ever agree to a home an home. Mark said he and Mitch were talking, but he didn't want to go into specifics. I figured that was AD speak for, "Not in your lifetime, Pal."

Harlan said during his Q&A that he had been talking to Alabama about football, but that wasn't going to work for USF. He then said he had something better in the works. Now I'm really interested in what he meant by that.

Wait!!

November 27th? The day after Thanksgiving? Great! The USF fans have to choose between the USF/UCF football game, in Orlando, and the Kentucky/USF game in Miami.

Crap!!!!! Come on, man.

Unless the football game is for the conference championship, you know where I'll be. Wonder how far the Hampton Inn in Miramar is from American Airlines Arena?
