Former Powell County Pirate head coach, Brian Hall has been named the new head girls basketball coach at Estill County. Coach Hall has a career record (that I know of) (all in the 14th region) at 116-111 with 4 district championships, 5 trips to the regional tournament, 2 region semi-finals and 1 region final.

Coach Hall inherits an Estill County team that returns everyone from last season and takes over for Mark McKinley who stepped down.

I'm really thrilled with this hire. Coach Hall is a class act and a very nice guy and I know that the Estill County administration and boys coaches think the world of him.

Will he be teaching at Estill? Where has he been the last few years?

The word I got is he will get a teaching position at the alternative school. He has been the boys coach at Powell County since 08-09.

He was also at Betsy Layne in 07-08 going 8-18

He also won 54 games in three years as Boys head coach @ Breathitt County with a regional runner-up and regional semi finals. Before that he was boys assistant @ Johnson Central for 10 years. Grand Slam hire for Estill County.
