Nice to see they load the schedule with the home games late in the year when the sun becomes an issue. 2 home games in their first 13 games. 1/3 of their games at home.

Yes, I'm sure they tweaked the schedule with late in the year home games so you'd have to bring a hat and sunglasses to the field. More than likely, it's a function in large part of where they played the same teams last year and field availability. CCH hosted Elder, McNick, Trinity, Highlands, Boone Co, Seven Hills and Ryle last year at the same time of year. Therefore..........we plat AT their field this year. This is how scheduling works.

Regardless...........the Colonels are locked and loaded this year, at least on paper. Knock on wood but it should be a strong team. We'll see come August.

Tell us about the CCH team. Who is returning? Which impact players graduated, etc.

No impact players really graduated last year as the Colonels were pretty thin on high level senior talent. In 2014 CCH will be lead by 4 seniors who are all high level players (Robert Lilly, Patrick Ballow, Joe Schuh & Parker Kenney). Any of those four would start for any team in the state as all four play for state cup champion club teams (LFC & KHA). Backing them up is a deep and talented junior class. Six of those incoming juniors were varsity players as sophomores. Throw in a few incoming sophomores from last year's very talented frosh team.

Interesting to talk about but all on paper right now. Not sure what other teams have coming back but I do know that Boone and Highlands graduated their better players.

^Good stuff. Thanks! Looking forward to the start of high school soccer.

Depending on how USA Team does in the world cup, CCH may be without 2 of their Juniors as they are back ups to the back ups.........
