Citing a "personal decision," Brian Evans steps down as Knox Central boys basketball head coach. Evans went 91-58 in 5 seasons.

Got word this morning that Bell County assistant Nick Napier had applied. He'd be a strong candidate I'd imagine. In his early 30's and already has a ring from his time as an assistant at Scott County. Went back home to Bell County and took a job as an assistant and helped guide them to their first trip to State in forever in one of his first years.

 

We had a thread a few years back about top young coaches (under 30 types) in the mountains and I had two names for the list: Brad Sizemore, who eventually became the head coach at North and took them to State for the first time in school history and Napier.

I heard that they weren't going to do anything until after the dead period.

Makes sense.

 

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Knox Central should have a lot of talent returning.

Second best team I have watched this summer.
