Evan Merrick has been promoted to head coach at Marshall County. He is from Graves County and played at Campbellsville. He takes over for Ron Barnard who was 16-28 in four years as Marshals coach.

Is Ron coaching anywhere or is he sitting it out a while? Went to MSU with Ron back in the day.

Not sure. His son will be a senior and is Marshall's QB. Marshall went 1-9 obviously, but also had several seniors playing for them--losing their starting QB will be even more of a set back.

You won't find a better guy than Evan Merrick; they don't make them better than him.
