Bowling Green started in on Franklin-Simpson early, using an 11-1 run to end the first quarter and continuing the momentum in the second to take a 39-23 halftime lead. But it was the third quarter where they dropped the hammer, pummeling Franklin-Simpson 27-2 in the quarter and holding them without a basket to gain the running clock and take a 66-25 lead into the final frame. When it was all said and done, Bowling Green emerged with the largest margin of victory in the 4th Region tourney since Warren Central won a game by 49 in 2004, and the 44 point margin was good for the third largest margin of victory ever in the 4th Region tournament. The 33 points Franklin-Simpson scored also tied for 4th least scored in a 4th Region tourney game since 1960.

 

They advance to play Barren County. The Trojans are just 1-14 all-time against 14th District teams in the region tournament. Their only win came over Daymeon Fishback's #1 ranked Greenwood team in the 1996 region semifinals.
