Not a lot of teams are able to walk off the floor the last game of the season a winner...but Fox Creek Christian did just that as they capped of a perfect regular season in their league by winning the league tournament over Sand Springs, 43-33, to finish overall 11-0 in combined regular season and tournament league action. The game was a very tough, physical game, with the refs not blowing the whistles much, which played more into the hands of Sand Springs. Some sloppy play by Fox Creek and the inability to hit the outside shot, especially the 3 pointer which is a staple of their game, and some physical play by Sand Springs kept the game fairly close thru out. The Knights finally settled down the 2nd half, started running their man-to-man offensive sets, and scored several easy baskets at the rim to help stabilize the game and hold on for the 10 point victory. Dakota Sallee once again lead the team in scoring, but complete stats are not available at this time.

This was the last game for 8 Fox Creek Christian seniors, some of which have played in this sports outreach ministry as many as 6 years. There were lots of smiles and even a few tears Saturday afternoon after the game, as the kids rejoiced in their tournament victory, but also realized it was their last game as high schoolers, and a small chapter in their life was closed. I couldn't be more happy for them to go out on top.

Thanks Clyde, I appreciate that.

Well done BigVMan, hopefully these young men realize the time and effort you sacrificed to make them better in more than just basketball. :ylsuper:
