Walter Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Goal tend or not at 407 mark? When Ruthsatz asked the ref at my end after the play (before Covcath took the ball out on the baseline) how it wasn't a goaltend, the ref replied "the ball was still going up."
Clyde Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 When Ruthsatz asked the ref at my end after the play (before Covcath took the ball out on the baseline) how it wasn't a goaltend, the ref replied "the ball was still going up." I thought it was a good call. Hitting the backboard doesn't matter in high school. That's an NCAA rule.
Clyde Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Put up video of the two PC fouls that were called on Holmes. I had trouble seeing them from my seat.
Walter Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Put up video of the two PC fouls that were called on Holmes. I had trouble seeing them from my seat. Both were good calls. On the one on Bolden, when you slow it down you can see that he uses his off arm (right arm) to push off PK. While it wasn't blatant, the ref was in perfect position to make the call. On the offensive foul on McClendon, that was a bang bang play that could have gone either way but I have no problem with the ref making the call he did. McClendon was going up for the pass as the defender was setting up (arms straight up) to take the charge. Chames kind of blocked my view but when you pause and watch in slow motion, you can see that it could've gone either way. McClendon went straight up and his momentum carried him in to the defender. If it was a foul, it's after the pass, not on the drive.
