Junior center Savannah Neace blocked a shot in the final seconds as St. Henry held off Newport, 46-45 on Monday.

 

Down by one with 11.1 seconds remaining, the Wildcats inbounded the ball, but Neace’s rejection the ball out of bounds with 3.4 seconds to play.

 

Newport was unable to generate another shot before the buzzer.

 

Neace led the Crusaders in scoring with 12 points, six in the first quarter.

 

Wildcats sophomore guard Ash-Lynn Hensley posted a game-best 14 points.
