What a thriller of a ball game. MoCo stays undefeated. Great win!!!

Senior guard Blake Thomas hits a 3 to force OT when it seemed like West was going to pull the upset.

Very exciting game. The Indians were down 6 with less than half a minute left. Xavier Piersawl converted an offensive rebound for two. On the inbound Montgomery Co knocked the ball out of bounds on the side. The ensuing inbound pass was stolen by Piersawl who hit layup with :11 seconds left. West Jessamine was fouled with under 6 seconds left. They hit the first and missed the second, which was rebounded by Montgomery. The ball was passed ahead until it reached Thomas who was spotting up in the corner. He swished the 3 at the buzzer to tie the game.

 

Wallace for Montgomery and Peters for West Jessamine both fouled out in the 4th quarter which led to some scoring issues for both teams in OT. Darius Jones scored at least 6 points in the extra period.

 

The Indians hit a 3 at the end of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters. The first two by Wallace and the third by Thomas.

 

Wallace had 22 followed by Piersawl with 19 and Jones with 18 for the Indians who hit only 4-14 from the line.

Wow! I'm ashamed to admit it, but with 27 seconds to go and Montgomery down by six I gave it up and went to bed (my age showing after the trip up to play E-Jess and Bryan Station in a day and a half).

 

When I quit I was disappointed because I wanted both Montgomery and Wayne to make it to next Saturday night undefeated, but obviously Montgomery proved "It ain't over until it's over".

 

Now if in the coming week Wayne can go on the road to Rockcastle and (a much more impressive than I thought they would be) Pulaski, and Montgomery can get by Bath & Bourbon then we'll have the battle of the undefeated next Saturday night.

 

At this point if they both make it to that point without losing I would have to favor Montgomery simply because the game is at their place, but we'll see.
