Huge district win on the road for the GRC Lady Cards. Hope to have some stats in a few.

GRC led by as many as 18 points in the 3rd Q. GRC shot 50% from the field and from behind the arch. GRC hit 16-21 FT. MoCo shot 45% from the field, 56% from behind the arch and were 9-14 FT

 

Couldn't get much scoring, radio going in and out. This is what I could get:

[h=1]George Rogers Clark splits doubleheader with Montgomery County[/h]

The Lady Cardinals held off a late surge by the hosts to notch their fourth consecutive victory.

The Lady Indians made four 3-pointers in the last six minutes but couldn’t overcome a double-digit deficit. Lexxus Graham made three free throws in the closing minutes to seal the deal.

Clark knocked down five 3-pointers and got 16 points from Sandra Skinner in the first half. Skinner finished with a game-high 24 points and added 11 rebounds.

Skinner scored 10 of the last 12 points of the first half that pushed a 20-14 lead into a 40-27 advantage at the break.

Graham connected on a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the first quarter to thwart a short rally by the Lady Indians. Graham followed Skinner with 13 points.

Maddie Hamlin added eight points for Clark in the first half and ended with 10.

Sarah Arnett led Montgomery County with 13 points in the first half and finished with 19 points, tying Erica Rogers for a team high honors. Rogers scored eight of Montgomery County’s 14 points in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Cardinals pushed the margin to 19 twice in the third quarter, but Montgomery used an 11-2 run in the last three minutes of the quarter to close the gap to 55-45 going into the fourth quarter.
