Covington Catholic/ North Port (FL) Updates

Featured Replies

After being down 12-4 at the end of the 1st quarter, with the only Colonel points coming from Ruthsatz, CovCath came to life in the 2nd period outscoring North Port 21-10 taking a 25-22 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Ruthsatz was held to goose egg in the 2nd, but Bo Schuh contributed with 8, Ben Heppler connected on 2 3's for 6 points, CVH dumped in 4 points, and Mark Schult had an and one ending the half with 3 in a nice team effort for the first half by the Colonels.

The Cybersports site has been stuck on 28 second for the time it took me to type this, so with nothing else to go on presently, I'm guessing that nothing else took place in the last 28 seconds. ... There it is.... 3rd period just beginning.

Is CovCath the best team in the 9th? Do they have the size to answer NCC? Can they handle Chames and Bolden for Holmes?

This is still to be seen, and the answer will come next Tuesday (against Holmes @ Holmes - Jan 7) and Friday (against NewCath @ CovCath - Jan 10).

I certainly believe that they can play with both teams. CCH has a stronger bench than NewCath, but NewCath probably has the toughest starting 5 in the region. Shultz and Schuh for the Colonels will have the battle of their lives with the three bigs from NewCath.

Holmes has a deep bench to match CovCath's, and no doubt both games will be barn burners. I don't think they have anyone that jumps like Chames and they'll have to figure how to contain Bolden. CCH plays smart so they won't back down in trying to find a way that works.

Stay tuned.

No stats tonight. Got to pack my bags and begin the long drive back home VERY early in the morning. Stats etc.
