Would Ky Basketball be better with Indiana Rule?

Featured Replies

Watching Arsenal Tech and Huntington Prep on ESPN. Dan Dakich is doing color commentary for the game and he made a comment that made me think. He said that Indiana schools have an advantage over schools in other states because that players on a high school team can play together as a team over the summer, basically playing together year round.

Why would KHSAA not allow the same thing for Ky Basketball?

Would this cause even more infighting between football and basketball over players?

I'd assume you could do the same in KY as well as long as the team was coached by someone other than a staff member of the high school team.

Maybe someone can confirm?

Seems like some "Open Runs" came under scrutiny this past summer because some teams were playing as a team at an open gym. I do think it came out that no rules were broken, but there was a lot of confusion on what they could and could not do.

From what I understood in Indiana the entire team can play together and be coached by their coach...but I may have misunderstood.

What is the rule on Summer Ball in Ky? Any limits on numbers of players from a given team? Limits on who may coach them?
