Who said it?

Correct RoadRunner. I figured a Bird fan would come up with it pretty quickly. Here is the entire quote by Collinsworth from an article in this morning's Enquirer. Collinsworth was asked if he knew Dale Mueller was going to resign.

 

"I did not. You know I coached with him for two years when (son) Jac played. Believe me, his ability as a football coach is well documented, but it's not half of what he is as a man. He would often say, 'We won't know if we have a successful football team for 30 years, after we see how they are as husbands and fathers.' There will never be enough Dale Muellers in the world."

 

Could there ever be a better statement made by and about a football coach? And coming from someone of Collinsworth's stature and experience, that is a heck of a statement.
