What a ball game. Hats off to both teams. First half was fairly even with MC leading 30-27. The second half was a half of 2 quarters. MC out scored GRC 19-8 in the 3rd Q and GRC out scored MC 17-6 in the 4th Q.

Was surprised at the score because the last update I saw had Central up 11 after 3 quarters. Kudos to GRC for coming back & very nearly winning this one.

No report on boards for Blanton. I will see what I can find out today. He did have 8 points first half and 27 in the second half and OT's. He hit a 3 at the buzzer to send it into the 2nd OT. This s a gritty little GRC team. Down by as many as 14 in the 3rd and never gave up. Hit their layups and FT in OT and they win the game. Great team effort by both teams.

Clark (2-1) rallied from a double-digit deficit in the third quarter and led 55-53 with 27 seconds left but the Indians tied the score on a bucket by Demarcus George. The Cardinals outscored Central 17-6 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Clark senior Khamarkis Blanton fueled the Cards’ comeback with 13 points in the fourth frame.

Blanton sank a 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime period to tie the game at 61-61 to send the game into double overtime. He also connected on a trey in the second extra period. Blanton finished with 35 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. He had 14 points in a 64-47 win over Paris last week. Blanton took 25 shots and made 15 of those attempts.

 

 

Clark’s Damien King had 11 points in the first half and finished with 17. King drilled a pair of clutch 3-pointers in the first half, including a trey that gave Clark a 23-21 lead early in the second quarter. He struggled first half, but really carried the Cards the second half and OT's. He had 13 rebounds to go with his 35 points.

 

King carried the Cards the first half.

 

I remember him hitting the 3 at the buzzer to go into 2nd OT, but he also tied the score up in regulation to send it into the first OT too.

It hurt the Cards when Green fouled out in the 4th Q with 3+ minutes on the clock.
