With 4 games left to win until the ultimate goal, St. X got off on the right track with a 26-0 victory over fern creek in round 1 of the playoffs.

 

District Play

Every member of the "super district" won their first round game in relatively convincing fashion. The first round sweep leads to rematches of regular season district games. Manual travels to T looking to avenge a 38-30 defeat, in which Mötley passed for over 350 yards on the shamrocks; The tigers travel to Male in hopes of avenging their 44-40 defeat, a game in which Charles Walker didn't play.

 

Possible Playoff Opponents

If the Tigers are successful on Friday night, then they may be able to complete their revenge tour with a game versus T at Papa Johns Stadium. The Tigers could also face 9-2 manual depending on who wins that game. If the Tigers make it too the state semi-final, the most likely opponents would be 11-0 Scott County or 8-2 Henry Clay. If the Tigers survived and made it to the state game, they would most likely face one of the four favorites from that side of the bracket. Those being: 9-2 McCracken County, 9-2 Henderson county, 9-2 Butler, or 11-0 Simon Kenton.

 

Team Capsule

The team seems to be hitting its stride at the right time of the year. The passing game has improved vastly since the regular season and players are starting to get back healthy. The tigers top 2 rushers sat out the first round game versus Fern Creek but are expected to have a huge impact in the rest of the playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs, there was more cover 2 from the defense, so that should help the defense in the passing game a little bit. The Special teams is still firing on all cylinders. At the end of the day, the outcome will boil down to execution and coaching.

 

Ill take X by 10 in the second round and I believe they will face Manual in the regional final.
