I read where Assumption won 3 state championships in about 8 days------field hockey, cross country and volleyball. Impressive.

Incredible talent. No wonder very few teams compete for the state volleyball title.

(9) committed D1 players & 5-6 others on the verge.... has there ever been a KY state championship game played in any sport with that kind of talent?

 

This is a yearly occurrence in volleyball. Between Mercy, NDA and Assumption alone there were 13 D1commitments in the lineups with 25 more sitting on the bench or just not yet decided on their college choice.

 

People seem to not fully grasp the quality of volleyball at NDA, Mercy, Assumption and Sacred Heart. To have a team that for 15 years has ended the season in the NATIONAL top 3 (true for Assumption, Mercy and SHA) means that the team that wins state in KY would, by those in the know who do the rankings, also win a national title. That means competing year in and year out with Texas and California. These little schools from KY.

 

It is truly amazing when one understands. For NDA to finish second or even third in our state is a remarkable feat. If NDA competed in Ohio or Indiana state titles would be commonplace. The girls are dedicated to the program And deserve much praise.
