Having 30 kids trying out for pitching may sound like it is a huge advantage but if no one is good High School pitcher it makes no difference. In Football you can send in new players all the time and wear out an opponent with shear numbers. If you had to play 18 players in a baseball game these numbers would apply, but you don't. You only play 8 players and a pitcher at a time and this is why baseball and even more basketball teams of smaller size can compete with bigger schools. I like the ideal of one champion, but in the 15th most schools will have less than thirty kids try out and only about 1/2 of those are talented baseball players. johnson Central, paintsville and maybe pikeville will have more kids than that. But we do have the all "A" deal. So I guess haven't made up my mind.
