Raceland wins first district title since 2008

RACELAND — For the first time since 2008, Raceland has claimed a district title.

 

The Rams finished perfect in Class A, District 7 after defeating Paintsville 32-10 on Friday at Paintsville.

 

Raceland took an early 13-0 lead in the first quarter all in the span of a minute.

It's about time, I believe that this was the longest stretch between district title's for Raceland.

Are they a threat to win at WKU this year? Would be nice for the 1A to have a 3rd name as a possible title winner other than BW and Mayfield.

Rams....DO NOT rest here, the District win is good, Raceland through the years have won in the neighborhood of 18-20 District Championships. I Know that this team has much higher goals set !

I'm a huge Beechwood fan...(Alma Mater) but I am also a huge high school football fan and love when more teams than the usual are in the mix.

Beechwood !!...Raceland could have Budweiser as a sponsor, through the years in playoffs we have been "Beechwood Aged" . :eek: :lol:

Yeah, my oldest son played his last game as a Ram at Beechwood. Bitter sweet memories there!

Hahaha, I was there the very first time Beechwood traveled to Raceland in the playoffs....I still remember seeing fans with beerbottles in the endzone lol....didn't think we'd make it out alive lol.

They certainly have a good shot of being there. There will a few tough games along the way though.
