# 10 is Zane Ross, he was second team all region as a sophomore last season and currently has 21 goals and 12 assists this season. On what was probably his easiest scoring attempt of the season and what would have tied the game, he just missed. # 4 is Chris O'Brien. it's a shame these guys don't more attention for no other reason than Cooper's talent pool is very shallow.

After scoring two quick goals CCH just quit playing. Other than O'Brien and Ross, CCH is a much more talented team, but they were flat out outplayed in the second half and were lucky to get a win.

I wouldn't say CCH quit playing. CCH substituted more liberally than normal. CCH, could have, no should have had more goals. The substitutions kind of killed their early momentum.

I also wouldn't say that CCH was outplayed in the second half. It was more competitive than the first half, but in my opinion CCH was still clearly the better team in that half as well. Granted, Cooper could have had another, but CCH missed many easier shots than the one missed by #10 on Cooper.

I thought the ref had some influence on the game as well. Not sure why there was no PK on the foul in the box that drew a card. Cooper consistently took the legs out from behind CCH players with never any play on the ball. While the ref did whistle most for fouls, there should have been a card after 4 or 5 from one player.

I guess we are both entitled to our own opinion and I will leave it at that.

Of course these are just opinions. oldtime even gets his facts wrong. You gave yours so I gave mine.

CCH did not give 4 and 10 the respect they deserved. CCH defenders repeatedly pushed too far forward and we're caught on the counter attack. You are right, CCH was lucky, but cooper is lucky it wasn't worse. The wonders of soccer. In the end, probably the right results.

Again, just my opinion.

I would agree that Cooper was fortunate that the score was not worse. If CCH plays the entire game like the first ten minutes, it could have been ugly. That was my point when I said they quit playing. They allowed Cooper to hang around. The longer they hung around the harder Cooper played. The better team won, no doubt, but the more talented team wasn't necessarily the team playing the hardest in the second half. CCH obviously didn't bring their best stuff to this game, but they won the game fair and square and I will take my hat off to them for that.

The fact that this game was close was entirely CCH's fault. It was 2-0 about 5 minutes into the game. Should have been over at halftime but yes, let a bad team hang around long enough and it will bite you eventually. Fine to get everyone some playing time but it was a little too relaxed overall. CCH has a habit of playing to their competition as evidenced by this game and the Connor game. Cooper has a couple good players in O'Brien and Ross. I've never seen a team's fans so happy after a loss, which is an indication of how lopsided it really should have been. This game was a step backwards for CCH.

Should have been, could have been, might have been . . . . . these are all statements of a team that is starting to show some signs of fatigue from a long season. I'm not just saying this about CCH but all schools are starting to hit the wall after months of club ball and the continual grind of the high school season. Over the next 3 weeks, we'll begin to see the teams that can dig deep and beat the teams they should while still getting better each game. Coaches are beginning to rest players, take extra days off of practice and get everyone healthy for the stretch run. Gone are the early season blowouts and now the chest game begins. . . if only I could have . . . . or should have . . .

Good luck next Saturday at Summit.... YOU'LL NEED IT

CCH has never shied away from a tough schedule and it's one of the reasons they attract quality players.

- Boone County tonight

- Cincinnati St. X on Thursday

- Summit Country Day on Saturday (Summit is #1 in Ohio in Division 3 I think)

Yes, they could lose all three, especially this year. I'd still rather play those teams than line up some patsies. St. Henry, Ryle, Boone.......I believe have been playing similar schedules lately.

You seem to think I'm making excuses for them. I'm not. CCH was far better and should have shown it but they didn't. That's their fault. And I think it's "chess game"..........not "chest game".
