Spalding/Justice Make Rivals 150 for 2015 Class

Featured Replies

Never been a fan of Rivals rankings.

AJ Harris of Dayton Dunbar is listed at #91 and Bolden dropped 20+ on him at the Xavier team camp this summer. It wasn't even close as far as who the better player is/was.

Bolden also had 25+ on Luke Kennard when AOP played King James last summer. I think the 247sports and ESPN rankings are much better than Rivals.

If you had 1 Hr in "how long before Walter responds about Bolden" you lost. 1 hr 7 minutes.

To be fair, I've also voiced my displeasure with Justin Johnson not being ranked in the 2014 rankings.

He put up huge numbers all summer against the "elite" guys.

Vandy offered Justice today.

Vandy offered Justice today.

I don't think they offered. I noticed roadtorupp had an article stating that Justice told them.while Vandy hasn't offered yet, Stallings did tell him that 100% one was guaranteed to come.

Walter I have said it many times to some of my other friends, that it isn't all about points on rating a player. Just because you drop so many points on someone, doesn't make you the better player. Not saying that Bolden isn't a good player, but using points as a judgement of who is better isn't the best judgement IMO.

Look at Anthony Davis in the NCAA finals, he had what 8 points. No question who the best player was. Personally I am not a fan of just going by points on rating a play.

All very good points and true. I used a similar argument years ago in the Cory Sorrell/Arrez Henderson 9th region POY debate.

I guess a better statement would be that head to head, Bolden had the upper hand and played a better all around game. Fair?

Fair and that was one game. Can't really judge a player against another on just one game. Each player brings something unique to the game. Also scouts on rating high school players also look at how this player will translate his skills to the college level. Ball handling, court vision, passing skills, able to creat your own shot, defensive skills ect. Another thing is heart, high energy, will to win. All of these things you don't see in stats, but goes into the rating scale.
